SADIE FURR ALLEN

Source: Grace Alward Newnum's collection of obituaries - loaned to me by my good genealogy pal, Betty Dotson

Sadie Marie Allen was born in Kingman Fountain County, Indiana Dec 6, 1900 and died Nov 28, 1918, aged 17 years 10 months and 22 days. She spent her early girlhood days in the vicinity of Kingman where she received her education, being loved and esteemed by all her class mates and teachers, she was a constant Sunday School goer and loved the work very much. On March 24, 1916 she was united in marriage to Byron Allen and to this union one child was born who still survives her. Her sickness and death was sudden and all that skilled physicians and loving friends could do was of no avail. Death came and claimed her as his own. Does death end all? No, a thousand times no. It is the open door through which we must all pass to immortality and eternal life. Jesus said, "I am the Life, he that believeth in Me though he were dead yet shall he live, and he that liveth and believeth in Me shall never die." We mourn not as they who have no hope, but we are comforted in the happy thought that our loss is her eternal gain. The funeral services were conducted by JM McHargue of Kingman at the home near Wallace and the remains laid to rest in the Harveysburg Cemetery. - typed by kbz
